Hi, I'm Mari — thanks for stopping by the kitchen door instead of just sneaking a taste and running off. Whether you tried a recipe and hit a snag, spotted a typo, or just want to tell me your grandma also measures garlic in palmfuls, I want to hear from it. Below is the fastest way to reach us and what happens after you hit send.

The Fastest Way to Reach Us

Email is genuinely the best way to reach me and the small team who helps keep Spoon & Simmer running. Write to us anytime at [email protected], and a real person reads every message — usually me, occasionally a very good editor who catches the typos I miss on deadline day.

We don't currently run live chat or a phone line (between recipe testing, school pickup, and keeping Chuck the sourdough starter alive, the inbox is already a full-time job). But email tends to work better anyway — it gives you space to explain exactly what's going on, and gives us space to actually look into it before replying.

What Kinds of Messages Are Welcome

Honestly, almost anything food-related. Some of the most common — and most welcome — reasons people write in:

  • Recipe questions: substitutions, timing, whether you can double a slow cooker recipe (usually yes, with caveats).
  • Corrections: a missing ingredient, a typo in the instructions, an oven temp that looks off. These are gold — please send them.
  • Content suggestions: a dish you'd love to see tested, a technique you're curious about, or a request to bring back an old family-style recipe.
  • Technical issues: broken links, print buttons that misbehave, images that won't load — our web person genuinely appreciates the heads-up.
  • Collaborations and press: brand partnerships, recipe development work, or media inquiries. For the full picture on how we work with brands, take a look at our Collaboration page before reaching out — it'll save us both a round of emails.
  • Everything else: feedback on the site, a story about your Abuela's version of a dish, or just to say a recipe made your Tuesday easier. Those emails genuinely make my week.

Tips for a Quick, Useful Reply

I try to answer every email personally, but a little detail up front helps me help you faster. When writing in about a recipe, it's incredibly useful to include:

  • The exact name of the recipe (e.g., Ultra Creamy Slow Cooker Mac And Cheese, not just "the mac and cheese one").
  • What step you're on or what went differently than expected.
  • Any substitutions you made — swapped ingredients often explain a lot.
  • A screenshot, if it's a technical or display issue.

If you're reaching out about a correction or a broken link, that same level of detail means we can fix it same-day instead of playing email tag. And if you're new around here, a quick read through About Us will tell you a bit more about who's actually on the other end of that inbox.

A Quick Health & Kitchen Safety Note

A lot of what I write about involves raw meat, dairy, eggs, slow cooking, and canning-adjacent techniques — so if your question involves food safety (say, how long that pot roast can sit before refrigerating, or whether a recipe is safe for a slow cooker left on overnight), I'll always answer with caution first. I'm not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian, or your local food safety guidelines, and for anything involving allergies, pregnancy, or medical dietary needs, please check with a qualified professional rather than relying solely on a blog comment or email reply. You can read more about how we handle this kind of guidance in our Disclaimer.

Before You Write In

A few quick answers that might save you a wait:

  • Recipe not loading or images missing? Try refreshing or clearing your cache first — but if it persists, email us with the recipe name and device you're using.
  • Wondering how we handle comments and community feedback? Our Community Guidelines cover what's welcome in the comments section and how we moderate.
  • Curious about affiliate links or sponsored content? Those policies are laid out clearly in our Affiliate Disclaimer and Disclosure pages.
  • Want to know how photos are sourced? Check Image Credits for details.

Let's Talk

Spoon & Simmer runs on the same kitchen-table philosophy as the recipes themselves: no pretense, no fluff, just useful answers. So whether you're troubleshooting a broken vinaigrette, pitching a collaboration, or just want to tell me about the weird vegetable your kid picked out at the farmers market, send it over to [email protected]. I read every message, and I really do try to answer like I would a friend leaning on my kitchen counter.

Grab a spoon — and thanks for being here.
